Mental Health

Mental Health

World Mental Health Day was first celebrated in 1992 as an initiative of the WFMH, which has members and contacts in more than 150 countries. Each year the UN, through WHO, actively participates in promoting this event.

For living happy and prosperous life we have to focus on mental health. Behind any chronic disease, we see that it's a psychological problem. We should understand each other. Instead of a judgmental attitude be sincere to others' feelings. It’s a stereotype that those people who consult with a psychiatrist or psychologist are said to be mad, out of their mind. We have to break this stigma.

With the development of technology, everyone enjoys a luxurious life. There are pros and cons to everything. Likewise, technology use within limits has many benefits but excess use of it is damage. We can’t enjoy the little happiness of life. I think we forget to live in a moment. Spending time with family now seems to be difficult.

The purpose of discussing Mental Health is to make ground for mental health awareness. We start with students. Students suffer from many problems, work burden, assignment, presentation, fear of failure, future uncertainty. They need help but they don’t know to whom they ask for help. Because of this, we had seen that many students in the end commit suicide. A common indication of suffering that student is not feeling well is anxiety, although anxiety to some extent is beneficial it triggers the person to perform a task". Come on hurry up you have to do this, let start work on it”. But when a person becomes panic they send a negative message to anxiety that something wrong is happening. Individual then feel frustrated and at the end, he or she suffers from aggression.

Normally, parents, teachers, and friends do not understand the situation of the suffering person and complaint that he became rude and nonsensical. As a result suffering people feel loneliness and hopelessness. He thought everything around him turns against him. And because of this, he may commit suicide. Now, what the solution to this. Firstly we should educate our children, students to understand their feelings and show behavior according to that. When anxiety arise student should focus on it fulfill its demand i.e. show appropriate behavior and appropriate behavior in above example was to focus on work and accomplished task on time. Then the cycle stops there but he does not do that which as a result ends in depression.

Role of teacher

Now the role of the teacher here is to motivate the students instead of horrifying them about their results. Understand the students. When and where they need help either in work or emotional help. Help doesn’t mean that make students depend on you but guide them to the task.

Role of parents

Here the role of parents is to take their child in confidence that in every situation you will support your child. Your child don feels lonely. Aware of the child about their responsibilities. So that they do with interest what they want to do. Your child's interest should be your priority not forced your child to do what they do not want to do. Otherwise to fulfill the wishes of their parent's children may be lost their life, happiness satisfaction.

Psychological treatment for such students

Normally parents consult with a doctor at the end-stage. Now psychologist role is to covert the irrational thought of his client into rational. Realize him everyone around him take care of him they are your beloved ones they want you to live. When the client's irrational thoughts changed then he developed positive behavior according to that and ultimately performs appropriate behavior. Along with psychologists parents have to play their role. Give time to the child. Turn to child needs. The home environment should be healthy.
