Dealing
with emotions
We mostly suppress our negative emotions, use denial
defense mechanism to deal with anxiety
related to negative emotions. But in reality these emotions remains in our mind
as it is and cause damage to our brain cells.
We need to deal with these emotions by first of all acknowledging that I am experiencing these negative emotions and feelings. Then try to find out the reasons or stressors behind the problem which result in experience of negative emotions. When you came to know about the root cause of stressor then you are now able do deal with this stressful situation. Make solution to deal with this problem and then implement the solution.
A
person with emotional intelligence deals with negative emotion in healthy way
and build the effect of positive emotions.
Teaching of Emotional Intelligence
Salovey et al. (2002) continued that
more than 300 program developers have began the teaching of EI. On this issue,
circumstantial indication proposes that children, youth, and adults can be
educated to use emotional practices to enrich their daily lives and can be
prepared to deal with the good and bad events they meet. For example, we can
communicate to people words expressing emotions, and we can explain people what
are the reasons of emotions either positive or negative emotions. We can help somebody
who is not good at Recognizing Emotions precisely to rise their accuracy level.
These people are learning skills and getting knowledge, but their emotional
intelligence themself may not be altering (Salovey et al. 2002); Snyder &
Lopez, 2007)
