What is Introvert and Extrovert|Difference Between Introvert and Extrovert

A lot of people assume that introverts and extroverts are opposites, with the former being quiet, reserved and isolated and the latter being outgoing, social and energetic. But this isn’t really the case; there’s actually a lot of overlap between the two personality types, even though they do prefer different ways of doing things and taking in information. So how can you tell if you’re an introvert or an extrovert? Read on to find out.

When we talk about introverts, what are we really talking about?

So, who are these introverts we hear so much about? According to psychology’s most frequently cited definition (from Jung), an introvert is a person whose energy naturally flows inward, focusing on his or her own thoughts and feelings, while an extrovert draws energy from external sources such as people and activities. In other words, introverts recharge their batteries by spending time alone; extroverts do it by being around other people.

Traits of an introvert person

Introverts are more sensitive than extroverts to external stimulation, such as loud noises, strong smells, and intense feelings. They also tend to be less assertive and more inward-focused. This means that an introvert is likely to enjoy a smaller group of close friends rather than a large circle of acquaintances; however, they will probably find that small group much more rewarding when it comes to understanding them and knowing how best to relate.

How to deal with someone who is introverted

Dealing with an introverted person can be intimidating for extroverts, as it seems like a surefire way to blow any chance of being accepted into their world. After all, if they’re not interacting with you, how can you ever hope to know them? But there are a few things extroverts can do to make being friends easier on everyone involved.

Examples of some famous introverts

Sigmund Freud, Tom Hanks, and J.K. Rowling.

Famous extroverts include Bill Clinton, Brad Pitt, and Jennifer Aniston. These are just a few examples of introverts and extroverts – each is unique in their own way! It’s important to understand that neither being an introvert nor an extrovert is good or bad – but rather a mix of both that makes you who you are!

Extrovert

While they may be hard to read, extroverts have a special place in psychology and neuroscience. For one thing, they’re easier to study. They like talking, while introverts often don’t.

But there are also some important differences between how introverts and extroverts think, act, and react that could explain why so many people prefer being around one personality type over another.
